Precious Princess part 9

Salina gasped. In front of her stood a tall menacing troll, it stood over her drooling on her feet. “Help, Please.” She squealed backing up slowly
“Hello?” A voice came from the greenhouse next to the mansion. An old man poked his head out of the door pulling off his big sun hat and squinting his eyes at Salina. “Aw come on get, get out of here” he yelled waving away the troll.  He ran over to me and threw rocks at the troll. It grunted and ran into the woods next to the house waving its big hands over its head. “Now who are you?” the man asked rudely turning to me.
“I’m Sandy’s niece Salina I need to talk to him.

He led me through long halls to two big office doors. He took a small key out from his shirt pocket and opened them up. Uncle sandy looked up from his desk in surprise when he saw me.                                       “Salina, what are you doing here? Where are your parents?” he asked standing up quickly and smoothing back his hair. He looked nervously past me down the hall awaiting the arrival of my parents.   “Don’t worry, I’m alone. I am looking for Rapunzel.”
“Well I don’t have her,” he said weakly collapsing back into his chair. “I can’t help you, I looked for her for months but I could never find someone who was there that day saw anything.”
“But I found someone, someone who was sitting right next to us and saw something. This old lady told me about how a woman next to her, had ran right onto a horse when Rapunzel got kidnapped and rode away with the kidnappers. She had blond hair and a scar across her right ear.”                                                             “Oh,” Sandy stood up quickly “I know that woman.”

Short story with no meaning.

The lights dimmed and the customers clapped their hands and stomped their feet as the curtain rose. The woman behind it was wrapped in feather boas, and wore a shiny head dress. She smiled and winked as the slow jazz music began to play. She raised the microphone to her elegantly painted lips and she began to sing a life changing melody. As she sang she slowly flowed around the stage to the pianist she rustled his hair, then she swept herself down into the audience. She took me by the hand and began to dance with me. We swayed side to side with the music her eyes twinkled in the spotlight. I settled back into my seat and she laid back down in her spot on the piano.

Precious Princess part 8

Salina was walking around town unsure of what to do, she couldn't understand. She has been rethinking everything, going on her own, finding Rapunzel, impressing her parents. The witch was the thing she knew, the only thing she could follow through on. She wanted to go home. But she can't, she wont. So she did the only thing she knew. Go to her Uncle.
Uncle Sandy got in a big fight with her parents the day Rapunzel got kidnapped. They told him that he shouldn't have taken Rapunzel (yes they never mentioned Salina's safety, she felt so loved.)he now lives right on the property line of the kingdom, she hasn't seen him in forever. She jumped on the back of Libra and road for three hours until she reached the front of his property. She dismounted and grabbed her bag, but when she turned around she gasped and what stood before her was the scariest thing she has ever witnessed.

To be continued...?

Sorry I haven't posted in a while school just started and I have been pretty busy but at least Kate has posted something

Califia's Ghost

The moon cast a pale light upon grandfather, his shock of white, crazy hair was near impossible to look at without getting blinded. The grin on his face was even harder, but with me staying with him for the first time in five years; it’s hard not to get a little excited at the prospect.
“Here we are.” Grandfather had led us from the garden path to a backdoor, leading to the kitchen. It was oddly small for such a large holding, but it had warmth to it that made up for the lacking in square footage.
Sitting by the fire, a pleasantly plump woman sat, snoring as loud as a bear. Grandfather knocked lightly on the door frame. Sputtering, the old lady’s eyes snapped open to reveal a shocking shade of brown. Immediately, a smile burst to her lips.
“Ah, welcome, you must be Califia!” Blushing slightly I smile.
“It’s really just Cal, ma’am." She turns to grandfather, giving a knowing look.
“Well, since you probably don’t know, I’m Ms. Magloire. I know your grandfather very well. A good grower, makes my ingredients of proper quality.” She reaches out, and I quickly walk over to shake her hand. Grip as strong as a plowman’s, but gentle at the same time.
“This as you must know is my little domain.” She sweeps her arm across the room with a smug smile. After a longer look at the kitchen, you could tell she took great pride in it. Not one item or surface didn’t sparkle brighter than the sun. Everything was neatly put away.
“It looks marvelous, very tidy, and organized.” This comment brought a glow of pride to the old woman’s face.
“Well it has to be in top working order. Got to be ready for anything.” She nods gravely. Grandfather walked over and gave her a hug.
“It seems like you two are getting along fine. Now Ms. Magloire will be showing you to your rooms. And I’ll see you in the morning.” Hugging me as well he made his exit.
Giving me a warm smile, she interlocks our arms and leads me to my rooms for the summer.
Just as we left, a chill runs up my spine.

Glancing back, I notice a figure of some sort illuminated in front of the fire. But as soon as I see it it’s gone once again, and I’m led away. The feeling of being watched still with me.

Precious Princess part 7

Salina gasped and stumbled backwards. “Oh I am sorry, excuse me.” She weaved around Salina and vanished into the crowd. Salina jumped up and began to run after the witch. She ran after the black hood bobbing through the villagers to an array of huts. As the witch started to open her door Salina panicked and yelled out, “WAIT!” She jumped and turned around. “Yes?” Salina reached up a shaking hand and pulled off the hood that had been hiding her face, and a flash of reconization flew across her face. She stepped forward and Salina fell backwards in fright. "Oh dear, I don't wish to hurt you darling." Then she seemed to come to a realization. "And you must think that I took your sister too, I swear I didn't, but you know there was more then one person on that bench that day.

Precious Prinsess part 6

She rode through though the farmlands, the farmers looked up from their morning work as she rode by. She noticed that her pristine royal white horse would attract attention. She pulled over at a small stream and splashed the horse who she decided to call Libra with dirty water staining his white coat, and making him look warn and old. After getting the mysterious note she had noticed all the things she will really need for her trip. She decided to stay in the village for a day or two. She wanted to figure out what she was going to do, and one thing for sure is that she wanted to find the old woman that she saw the day Rapunzel disappeared. Libra trotted through town and it painfully reminded Salina of that day, with the street performers prancing around the fountain and street vendors crowded by villagers. Salina first decided to stop at a inn and get a room. She tied Libra up in front of the Three Beers a restaurant that she heard was also an inn, but as she flung open the door Salina found herself face to face with the old lady.

Precious Prinsess part 5

As the sun set Salina stopped in the barn of an old farm, the cows mooed as she dismounted. She sat on a bale of hay and sorted through her belongings. In her bag was her dagger, she drove that into her belt, the food that she stole, four outfits, and an extra pair of shoes. Salina slept through the night until around five am the horse steeped on her hair to wake her up. She looked up the horse was chewing on hay, unaware that he was standing on her. “Get off!” Salina yelled shooing him away. She got up and looked around. Her bag was thrown carelessly on the fence and it condense was strewn around it. She scrambled up to check the damage. “Burglars” she muttered to herself as she ran over. But as she inspected the content, she found nothing damaged or stolen, and as she looked around in bewilderment she noticed next to her old sack was a large hiking backpack. Salina ran over to it. She zipped it open and inspected the things inside. The bag was half full she pulled out, first another bag of food, a pair of old scissors, a jack knife, a water container, water purifier and a bright shiny sward. At the bottom of the bag was a note. Dear Salina, as I thought you had packed TERIBULY I have provided some other useful items that you will need. The note wasn’t signed. Confused she packed the backpack and was off leaving the old sack behind.

Another one of Harriet's "heart warming" short storys

Rustle in the bushes indicated that I wasn’t alone. I wiped my head around trying to find where it was coming from.  I kept running, hopefully to somewhere safer, but the maze just went on, and on. But as I ran I noticed the shrubs were getting thicker, taller and darker. Is this the way they want me to die? Mauled by a tiger or bear, or suffocated by a shrub in a dark, scary maze. I take a moment to catch my breath. Everything seemed quiet, my eyes drifted up. The walls towered thirty feet above me, no way to climb those. My hand brushed the soft ivy, but then gasped, it was poison oak. I drew to a corner made of solid brick a wept until my eyes went dry. It seemed like forever has past and my hand already had small welts on it. I attempted not to breathe too loudly but my gasps for air were raspy and cold. I looked up again, a light; it was coming closer, getting bigger my scream was drowned out by a loud buzzing and a sound like knifes against a chalkboard.
The light blocked my vision, I dropped to my knees. I crawled blindly away smashing into brick and brushing poison ivy as I went. Finally I rounded a corner and the light went out. Darkness surrounded me again. My eyes adjusted back to the dark but everything was blurry. So was that their plan to blind me so that a beast can sneak up on me. I rubbed my eyes and kept going.  But suddenly I heard a soft growl behind me. I jumped up and ran, ran until I ran straight into a branch sticking out from the vines. My head began to spin I wandered hopelessly through the maze until I walked right into a brick wall. I stumbled back and then I heard the rocks shift. I ran my hands across the cracks between the stones and pushed. The rocks moved back and then the cracks began spraying water, the rocks tumbled to the ground and to my horror a large wave of water knocked me over and I fell under. The water was so strong that the wall next to me began to fall apart. As I flailed around in the water attempting to reach the surface pieces of stone flew themselves at me. A large sharp rock cut me deep in the side and a pipe that had been stacked on the top of the wall struck me hard in the head. Spots popped in front of my eyes. I threw my hand up in a last desperate grasp for life, and then I felt the air. My head brock the surface and I gasped for air, the waves around me threw my flailing body every witch way until I was able the grab on to a vine hanging down from the wreckage of a wall. I pulled myself through the water until I grabbed on to the top of the wrecked wall. I laid down on the top of the bricks and tried to regain my breath my eyes flickered and I fell into a deep sleep.

Space - a story By Harriet

Stars, a grand expanse of stars for as far as the eye can see. I stood; amazed at the long mass of light that I was standing on. I was on the Milky Way. With every step the ground vibrated beneath the soles of my boots. I crouched down and scooped up a handful of glittering sunlight. As I held it in the palm of my hand a pleasantly warm feeling seeped through my glove and tickled my hand. I clutched the light tight and slipped it away deep in my pocket. As I began to walk I started to sink a little, I gave the sensation of walking on a sun kissed beach in the warm sand. I softly started humming a tune. The song I was singing helped me notice, I was the only person for a million miles. I could sing and dance however I wanted. I ran to my ship, upsetting sun sand as I went. Out of my small rocket I hauled out my record player. I plugged it in to a small outlet in my ship and music started to blare out of the speakers. I slipped off my boots and I was off. I kicked up sun sand as I flipped and spun around to the beat. Soon a small dent had formed around me and the sun sand shimmered forming a bubble around me it lifted me up above the stars, then down around the stars to float in open space. I panicked, but then I relaxed the shimmer calmed me and slowly lulled me to sleep.

When I awoke I was surprisingly on the ground in my New York apartment. I got up, was it all a dream? It must have been I trudged to my bathroom to wash my face. I stuffed my damp hands into my pockets, and when I took them out my hand was coated in a bright, shimmering dust.

Trying To Find The Past  by harriet

Arianna Kenny stood in the middle of a broken room. Charred and ripped papers floated carelessly around her. She was standing in the middle of the library of the small town of Liberty. To Arianna, the library is the one place to go to escape the dangers of the town, and world it rests in. That was, until the library was broken into again and this time it was demolished totally. Arianna’s eyes wandered to the broken windows, to the busy streets. People wandered the road trying to find something no one else could see. Drug dealers were getting tremendous business as they leaned up against buildings coaxing kids to buy their product. And worst of all the families and others sitting on boxes or just the street, holding cups or hats begging for money for food for their family.

Picture story (based on Harris Burdick's picture The Seven Chairs )

There are many families in the world, and they usually don’t get along that well. But there is one family who get along so well it is almost frightening. This particular family is made up of seven children and two parents. The first and eldest child is a 21 year old girl named Virginia who is dominating art school in New York City. And an eighteen year old boy named Harvey, he had just graduated from a quite presidios high school, some might classify him a nerd with the blazers he wears or the big round glasses placed carelessly on the bridge of his nose. But everyone who knows him instantly looks up to him as their role model. Next there is Avery the classic sixteen year old girl. She wore extremely attractive and expensive outfits, and all she did was shop but she wasn’t mean or snooty. She was surprisingly kind and thoughtful. Also there was Jeremiah who was Mr. fifteen year old jock so popular, he was papered with millions of friends and girlfriends but yet he still attempts to spend time with his family through all the sports he does. Then there was Melanie and Wendell the fourteen year old twins who are best friends and they share everything. Then there’s me, Nyla I am the youngest thirteen years old and I am best described as urban. I wear long flowing skirts and tank tops and my fingers are covered in rings. Then there are our parents. They are both successful surgeons who got so in demand and rich that they retired early to be able to spend time with their children in their huge house in the suburbs of New York.

Yes my family was perfect they got along and never got in to trouble. It was almost imposable but then there was the tragic day of when my parents died from a terrible disease and that day the children started growing apart and fighting. Virginia took in me and the twins and unfortunately was forced to quit art school which made her slightly resent us. The others lost touch with us totally, after a terrible fight that shook the whole neighborhood over the will. Apparently Avery punched Harvey in the nose breaking his glasses and went to live with her best friend. And Jeremiah quit high school and moved in with a strange eighteen year old girl. I got over all this by sucking myself into music and books. Witch was fine by me.

Now it has been seven years and I am 20 years old and I am in school too earn my English teaching degree. The rest of my family is long gone. I haven’t heard from them in years until one rainy day. My small phone rang corresponding with the pitter patter of the rain against my window. I picked it up and gasped at the voice that replied to my hello. “Nyla, is that you” it was Virginia. “Oh my god Virginia? Yes it’s me I can’t believe it’s you, how are you?” “I’m fine I’m back at art school senior year.. Well I was just calling to tell you to meet us at the old mansion; I found a note from Daddy. He says that he knew we would grow apart and he wants us to all meet there in that room he never opened.” The phone line died before I could question “us”.

I stood trembling in front of the old house. I heard loud shouting coming from the second floor. I sighed and trudged in. I threw the big doors to a room I had never been open and walked in and then stopped, taking in the scene. All of my siblings sat around a long table with a big two way screen in the middle. Small iPads at each seat. I recognized all of them; the twins were in the midst of a heated argument. Jeremiah was sitting with his feet up on the table smoking a large cigarette with tattoos all over his arms and an icky woman stood behind him smoking as well. Virginia had a repulsed face on as all the cigarette smoke was deliberately being blown in her face.  Harvey was sitting promptly with a frown underneath a thick beard. And his glasses still poised on his broken nose. And lastly Avery sadly, after receiving a big amount of money from the will had become a snotty rich chick.

I crept through the silent room and sat in my chair, but right as I touched the chair the screen popped on and a few words started sweeping across the screen and our tablets. We all looked up and went silent it explained how this is some kind of challenge our parents had left for us. Then a question popped up on to the screen. It read “will you kids ever make up and a check box appeared on our iPads. I instantaneously checked the no box as well as everyone else. “I’m sorry to hear that I’m sorry I will have to send you away until you make up your mind. We all looked around puzzled but then suddenly ropes shot out of the chairs and strapped us on to them. I panicked flailing my arms trying to get out. But it was no use. The seven chairs rose up and evaporated. The first chair carried Virginia to Africa the second and third chair to Iraq which held the twins. The other chairs were scattered all around the world. My chair, the fifth one ended up in France. Two men waited for me. They informed me that I will be living with them until I contact one of my siblings and make amends. I was forced into a daily routine working for these men in their fancy hotel, but I was stubborn and refused to contact my siblings. And I lived out the rest of my life working for these men and teaching their children literature. I never saw my sisters or brothers or my life again.

Precious Prinsess part 4

“Oh… good evening Pete.” Salina whispered nervously “I was just on my way to the kitchen for…” Pete the security guard cut in, “no worries your highness, your mother informed me that you may be doing this. She said to let you pass.” Salina rolled her eyes and pushed passed Pete to the armory. She equipped herself with a small dagger. Then she made her way down to the kitchen and filled a sack with bread water jars and canned food, she also sheepishly threw a bag of chocolate in. After that she carried this stuff upstairs with all of her clothes. She went to work ripping, cutting, and sewing in the sewing room, so finally she had a few decent outfits. She fit herself into her new pants and t-shirt. Then she was off. She ran down the long path to the stables Salina summoned she white horse and hopped on. After securing her bag on to the saddle, She literally rode off into the sunset.

Precious Prinsess part 3

Salina ran out of the dining room into the vast hallway outside. The maids and cooks were all standing looking shocked and petrified as she passed them. Murmuring shook through the castle, Salina ignored it and ran up to her quarters. She threw a big duffel bag on to her bed and opened her large closet. Her heart raced, rummaging through her endless dresses. Wait dresses? Is that all she had. Yes she couldn’t find anything else. Panicking she sat down on her bed tear pushing their way out again. Footsteps pounded on the stairs, she fell down on her bed ready to be grounded for life never leaving this room unable to leave. Because even if she did leave what would a princess do in the real world? The door opened and her mother walked in. “Hi.” She said a little sternly. “So are you done packing?” she asked. Salina looked up, surprised. Her mom looked over the empty bag then giggled. “Oh I thought you would at least make it out the door.” She murmured teasingly. “I’m not nervous that you will leave because I know you’ll come back.” And she left it at that she scampered out the door. Salina sat in bed for hours formatting a plan in her head. At around midnight she slipped out of bed and slid out in the hall. She silently wrenched a small medal dagger out of a crest on the wall. Making her way over to the armory but as Salina rounded a corner she walked bam into a very large very scary guard…

Precious Prinsess part 2

Rapunzel part #2

About 1 And A Half Years Later
Salina sat at her rusted vanity mirror.
Tears seeped out of her eyes as she stares at a picture of Rapunzel, she was in the mists of running away from the royal hairdresser. Her 5-foot long hair was flying behind her, while the queen knocked over a huge box of hair curlers. Rapunzel never got her hair cut once. It was 12 feet long the day she got stolen.

“Princess Salina,” the maid stuck her head in. “Yes?” Salina quickly sat up and wiped her eyes. “Dinners ready.” “Thank you.” Salina whispered, the maid bowed out. Salina slipped her evening gown on over her raggedy nightgown and rushed downstairs. She rushed into the dining room and was surprised to find both of her parents sitting at the long glass table chewing quietly on their chicken. She stared at her father who barely ever came to meals lately. She sat down and started cutting her chicken.

Both of her parents were being extremely stubborn. When the king learned of Rapuzel's kidnapping he spent three months trying to find her but finally gave up. Then he started spending all day in his study. The queen refused to do anything about it. She even refused to talk about it at all so Salina had no one to confide in. She was forced to keep all her emotions bottled up. Until her uncle and aunt moved in to help send out search parties because no one else had done it.

But she wasn’t going to take it today. Today was Rapunzel’s birthday and she had to speak up. “Mother, Father… Hello?” both of her parents stared at their plates in silence.

“HEY!” Salina screamed slamming down her fork. They both jumped and stared at her in shock. Salina looked back down at her plate. “Today is her birthday you… you know” Her voice breaking. Her mother slammed her utensils down loudly as well. “Salina! Please your mother can’t talk about it yet its... Its too soon.” Her father hissed through his teeth angrily. “TOO SOON!?” Salina screamed in their faces. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND A HALF! HOW LONG DO YOU NEED?! Just talk to me please… please?”

“We are just showing emotion Salina we did all we could to find her!!!!" “No your showing NO emotion. And you didn’t you sent out one search party for three months. I could do better then that… And I will!” She said standing up and she rushed out.

Sunrise

Sunrise

An indigo expanse fades to blue
Birds voice the arrival of day in a voice of the heavens
A sleeper’s face, bathed in gold
The flutter of the eyelids
Sunlight glinting off auburn curls
A whisper of a smile
Face warmed in light
A room pure of shadows
Waking to the birth of day

Precious Princess

This is a story I have been writing but its not done.
it is suppost to be long so heres a page of it. Its about
Rapunzels sister's search for her. But im really bad at editing.
Once upon a time there lived a king and a queen who were expecting a baby any day now. But when the joyful day came the child that was born had mousy brown hair, and was in no shape to be a princess or to marry a dashing prince. So when in one year a second daughter was born with long blond glossy hair and a small figure the king and queen knew that this was the future queen. The first girl was named Salina and the second child was named Rapunzel. Salina was ignored by her parents well they got Rapunzel ready for queen hood. As the two girls grew up they grew very close. Salina lived her life with the maids as her sister was rushed to a million social events to learn elegant skills like pointing out her pinkies and to extend her as like in paaants or traaaance. In their free time the girls played in the large estate, or dressed up with Rapunzel’s extensive clothing collection. Both of them really didn’t like being caged up in the castle their whole life. So the girls jumped at the chance to go to town with their family uncle to buy more horses. The girls rode down the small mountain witch held the castle in a shining gold carriage drinking campaign and planning Salina’s 16th birthday party. “I am kind of scared to get into town” Salina said through a mouthful of strawberries. “I know they will probably be so mad that we are so rich and they will be old and trying to steal our jewelry like dad says.” Rapunzel replied nervously. But as they rolled into town the first thing they saw was a line of people dancing in the middle of the street surrounded by what seems to be the whole town. They carefully disembarked the carriage and hoisted up or skirts and climbed up on a wooden crate to watch as Uncle Sandy went to get the horses.  Salina looked around to make sure that they had guards. Then she gasped as the sight of a horrid looking woman sitting on the bench next to a woman with a frightened look on her face. When the street performers finished they pulled of their tall top hats and started to pass it around. Rapunzel handed a generous handful of coins to our guard and instructed him to put in the hat. Suddenly a bag was shoved over Salina she heard commotion and her sisters loud shriek. Then she felt a person fall on top of her. Then everything went quiet. She was finally squirmed her way out of the bag. She looked down and screamed at the sight of one of her guards lying on the ground with a knife in his back. Present doctors surrounded him trying to heal him. I felt dizzy suddenly a shot rang out and a old man fell shot in the head from a bullet coming from anywhere. Suddenly a group of presents formed around Salina blocking her from any other bullets. The remaining guards shouted for all presents to cover themselves or go inside. But something else was wrong. Rapunzel was gone. Salina looked around again to try to locate her but all she noticed was that the old women was no longer there.Salina whipped her head around searching in the bustling crowd. But the old lady was nowhere to be found.

H's Short Story

I remember it all clearly, what I was wearing, and who I saw, and what my last words were. The day I died. I was walking from the orphanage to the park I had music blaring in one of my ears. The other ear bud was hanging by my side. I trotted along the road, people walked around me ignoring me, just the way I like it.

“HEY HOMELESS!” a wicked little voice yelled from across the street, Tristan. He did a little cocky saunter over to my spot on the street. I turned around, trying to ignore him.

“How’s life on the lonely side? Hey could you get me “Annie’s” phone number? I like girls that sing.” This went on forever I jammed the other ear bud into my ear and walked faster toward the orphanage again tuning out everything. I turned the corner and rushed to the cross walk. I then felt a sharp tug on my left shoulder, it was the relentless Tristan, and I hadn’t even noticed him following me. I turned around and shoved him way , then ran across the street timing it perfectly so that the light turned green and Tristan was cut off by what seemed like hundreds of cars speeding by.

But as I turned around to make sure he wasn’t following I was just in time to see the big truck barreling toward me. Then suddenly the world froze. The car was almost on me I straightened up and looked around, some people haven’t noticed but other people like Tristan were watching and had a horrified look on their frozen face. Tristan was about to run into the street. I stumbled up and look around. I saw that I left a shimmering outline of my death position. I ran to the edge of the street but a clear invisible wall restrained me from running I pushed and pushed until a hole formed in the wall showing a room full of doors. Suddenly knew what this room was where I say good bye to the people who loved me I stepped into the room and watched the hole melt away, leaving me in the room alone. I waited and waited until one door creaked open. A short plump woman walked in. I towered over her but I could see the resemblances between us, my real mom. The one I was taken away from when I was young. She brushed the stray hairs out of my face and placed a soft kiss on my cheek. I could see the damage the alcohol has done to her as she limped away. I held tears behind my eyes but the next person was too much. Tristan ran over to me and embraced me in his strong arms I cried for what seemed like forever. I sank to the ground and he rocked me as we both cried. I just wish he would actually remember this moment. Next thing I knew I was alone Tristan was gone and I was in a room full of screens showing years of my life. But this wasn’t necessary I had a bad childhood the first time I didn’t need to watch again.

I shoved open a small door and looked through. I saw the world still frozen and my spot still shimmering ready to take me away. Suddenly I ran toward it past everything leaving it all behind. I fit myself into the spot and then the world unfroze, I felt a blinding pain I yelled for Tristan and in so little time I was able to see his face as a man caught him from running for me. Then I died.
